Monistat as makeup primer. Ooops! Will this still work?

I just ran to the store and bought some monistat soothing care gel, because I heard that is works as a makeup primer...but I got itch relief instead of chafe relief!!! Will this still work? Or should I totally not put this anywhere near my face...?
