Believers in religion of peace. Justify Sudan women being lashed for wearing trousers under Sharia law?

perhaps i am the only one who sees the hypocrisy here. a religion who claims to be peaceful and one who treats women with the utmost of respect one one hand while holding them down with the other, butchering their genitalia and publicly flogging them, is not able to justify itself. the contradiction is simply too appalling.
